Creating Videos

Those of us who study with Jimmy at the Jimmy Bruno Guitar Institute do so via video and chat room. We make videos of ourselves playing assingments that Jimmy gives us and then we get feeback on what was submitted.

I’ve not sent a video in for a little bit, because I was extremely displeased with the quality of the audio on the recording. I’ve tried adding sound cards to my notebook and all manner of things to make it work the way I want it to, but all for naught. I decided that I’d bite the bullet this weekend and figure it out.

Well, with a little creativity and old fashioned “elbow grease”, I’ve come up with a method that works. It requires the use of:

  • My Tascam Ministudio (~$120 USD)
  • Two programs from NCH Software
    • VideoPad video editor
    • WavePad audio editor (currently ~$50 USD)

It only increases the production time by about 15 minutes and the quality is excellent. If anyone is interested, please let me know and I’ll lay out the steps for you.

At first glance I thought this blog was titled “Cheating videos” to go with “Your Cheating Heart…” blog.
